Would you like to see more training opportunities for early learning? Child development? storytime tips and tricks? or any other area you feel would be beneficial?
Yes, I believe that more training opportunities would be beneficial. For me personally more training on storytimes with multiple age groups, as well as tricks and tips to keep parents involved with storytime would be very helpful. While I often have very energetic and involved parents, it can really affect the mood of storytime when parents refuse to join in with their kids.
I think child development/early learning training would be helpful. Right now most of my storytime experience involves preschool aged children, but if I were to sub in for another storytime or change to a different age group, it would be great to be more familiar with what children in that group are capable of and what makes them unique. Any other storytime training would be helpful, just to get more ideas on what's out there and new techniques.
I would definitely benefit from early learning training. Like Yolanda, if I were to sub/change it would be great to come in with an adequate understanding of teh age group. (Especially since I have lived a pretty child-less life and know very--very very-- little about babies, toddler, and pre-school aged kids. Of course, understanding developmental stages in general would be an asset to children's services. Additionally, learning tips and tricks would help generate more ideas.
I would love to see more suggested sites for ideas and tips for storytimes. I have viewed a lot of info on the computer drive, but it would be helpful if it was easier to locate or organized by developmental ages perhaps?
Training in planning more Inclusive storytimes would be great, too.
